Rushton Rd - about halfway between 9 mile and 10 mile road

The correct address is 10470 Rushton Rd., South Lyon, MI

Built in 1840 by William Dean, a settler from New York State. He dammed the Greenock Creek and built a water powered saw and flour mill on the site, the first gristmill in Michigan. Over the years, the building has also served as a post office, train depot, manufacturing site, and general store.

After a fire in 1971, the DeAngelis family rebuilt the old mill using a great quantity of the original building materials, They pressed apples for cider, made donuts and opened a museum on the top floor. The Fackert family purchased the mill in 1999 and ran the Greenock Mill general store and gift shop, hosting annual Arts & Crafts Fairs on the site for many consecutive years. The shop closed in 2010 and the site is now privately owned.
